A couple posts ago I mentioned Bill Moyers was back with a show on PBS. The first show was on Wednesday ad was a 2 hour extravaganza of frustration. Friday the show went to its normal time slot (9:oopm eastern time) and featured interviews with Jon Stewart and Joshua Micah Marshall. The combination of the interview with Jon Stewart and the clips they showed from the show illustrate quite vividly why The Daily Show is so great. Not just because it's funny, but more because it cuts through the bullshit.
His interview with John McCain last week was the first I'd ever seen that drilled through the layer of crap protecting the enablers of the war and put McCain so far back on his heels he shrunk to the size of a small child. He didn't ultimately acknowledge what Jon Stewart was saying (he blustered over the top of him to keep from hearing the truth) but there was a sense that he had been revealed, and there did appear to be some shame.
Both of the episodes are available here.
You can see the full McCain interview here.

Good good stuff. As big as a dipshit McCain has turned out to be, can you imagine Bush going on a show like that?
I challenge you to question the Democratic party too. They are not all good guys wearing white hats. I agree with you that the Republican's have goofed up and have been making bad choices for years, but let's look all around not just in one direction. It's not as simple as picking the lesser of two evils.
I suggest supporting a canidate that you truely believe in and get involved with political reform. It is not alright for any American to accept one of the two parties as their only choice. We have a say and we can make a difference.
In my book both parties have disgraced this country. We need a president who is honest and trustworthy. We need a government that is honest and trustworthy too.
I should be the first to pick up the flag and fight for reform, but I am fighting for other causes at this point. I hope to back up my comments at some point in the future. I am so pissed at both parties I can hardly stand it. I don't hate anyone who supports either of the parties, but I strongly dislike the parties themselves.
The post I offered had nothing to do with one party or the other. With that said, be assured that I will hold the Democratic Party to account once they have power.
You're being a fool if you think that 'all politicians are the same.' That is a talking point that shitty politicians have been feeding the public for years. While there are shitty politicians on both sides the current iteration of the Republican Party is almost totally evil. I'll throw together a post that explains why.
Look for it soon.
I do realize that it was not about a particular party, put I offer you some feed back that spawns from a number of posts that you have made about a number of Republican party members. Believe me when I say that I am not a fan of the Republicans.
I am also aware that people are people and not the Borg. However, good men are chained to their parties. This means that good men, at times, have to follow sick paths to remain in office or to get their good wills passed. I am not a fool as my post may lead you to believe.
I truly love your passion. I salute and admire you for your opinions. I am just stating that there is a lot of attention that is drawn to the President and the Republican party. All that I am saying is lets look at the big picture. Let's not look for blame all of the time. If it's not the Democracts looking for issues with the Republicans its the Republicans looking for issues with the Democrats. I am not saying that we should let people run amock and unchecked, but we should not start looking for problems all of the time. As much as I don't like President Bush, I still hold a great respect for the office. He is a disgrace, but yet should still be given the respect that the position deserves.
I am apposed to the negative giant that looms in Washington. How is it that we can not do great things for our citizens? How is it that we can't get health care for every American? Why are the schools in our country going down the crapper? It is because the Democrates and Republicans are constantly fighting each other and getting nothing done.
I am sorry for using your blog for this rant, but it is your blog that has triggered in me a response. I look forward to your post on why the Rebulican party is evil. I think that their ideology needs to be reformed. I think that the party system needs to be eliminated. Everyone runs on their own merits and vision for America.
Agree or disagree, but hear what I say. I am going to vote for Mr. Smith (Jimmy Stewart). Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is a very inspiration film and what I am looking for in a canidate. My rant is over.
