I'm sitting here at home. It's snowing. And blowing. Really blowing, with gusts later today headed north of 40mph.
My neighbors are in the middle of their second round of shovelling/snow blowing. They aren't going anywhere. They're retired.
I, on the other hand, strongly resist shoveling until A) it stops snowing or B) I've got to go somewhere.
Anyone else buy into the 'keep up with the snow' concept?

I am squarely in your boat. Why go out to shovel when it is still snowing? Crazy to do it multiple times. The only sense to the concept of shoveling multiple times is if you really want to burn calories.
I agree. 40 mph! We had 25 mph. Enjoy the snow as it falls, clean it up when:
1)you gotta go
2)it is done snowing and/or blowing
3)you have the chance or opportunity
I have shoveled BETWEEN snowfalls, and I've left it up to Mother Nature.
At the risk offending someone, I'll say this: the elderly are really into keeping those driveways and streets clean. A street was re-surfaced by my mother-in-laws house, and we saw an older gentleman sweeping dirt off it. I figured the pristine blacktop would eventually just get dirty within a day, but he was really, really into keeping it nice.
If elderly people are into it, we begin to understand the real reason Mixx hates the practice so.
But yeah, man. Wait for the friggin snow to stop!!!
I must give my neighbors some credit. They ran their snow blower behind our cars, shortening my shoveling time by 10-20 minutes.
Still, I've only shoveled enough to get to work today, with the balance of the job to be done tonight.
Minnesota seems to be the only place not pummeled by snow.
We've got about an inch and a half of salt, though.
This is only the second shovel-able snow we've gotten this year, and the first one was 3" of powder.
I was pretty much just referring to this week. Everyone's getting hit. Indy, Methuen, and some small village in upstate NY that the media is curiously relunctant to actually name
Sleepy Hollow.
Actually, one of the towns is Mexico, NY. The coverage I've seen names them all the time.
It missed me, but I think Steve got a few inches of snow Monday night.
They said that we were to get from 4-8 inches, but all we got was a trace. I thought that we would have a 2 hour delay at the least. I was wrong.
It takes a big man to admit that.
