Escalante will be revived soon, but I've been too busy to devote the time necessary to fill in the details.
For now....
I've never understood how we've had all the wars since World War II without Congress actually declaring war. Seems like chicken shit behavior. It's either a war or it's not.
But not we have our asshole in chief doing whatever he wants,a nd no good has come of that.
Check out this.

A wonderful wonderful comment a guy who disputed the post. The last paragraph is phenomenal, and should be pinned up on everyone's refrigerator.
.......
With the exception of the word "football", your description will apply to Iran in the near future. Yet you are more afraid of Bush than an actual militant theocracy.
Thank you for not disputing the obvious. And why shouldn't I be worried about the fool launching a nuclear strike simply because he can?
How amazing that ME mullahs get more respect than your own President. Will you write in Ahmadinejad's name at the next election? You obviously hold him in higher regard.
I neither respect, like nor trust Ahmadinejad, who as I've pointed out is little more than a loud-mouthed figurehead. Similarly, I have no respect or affection in Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Council of Guardians, the Assembly of Experts, or the rest of the upper echelons of the Iranian power structure. I do, however, trust them to behave with a greater degree of rationality and self-interest than we see out of the White House lately.
As for Bush, he lost my respect and trust some time ago. Presidents and elected officials are owed nothing by the electorate, least of all our trust. If you wish to give him all your affection and trust, that's you. I'll be guided by what I see.

Funny/frightening. Al Franken has been talking about the "not understanding what strategy means" angle and it's been pretty humorous. He imagined a scenario where the a top general is in a meeting with Bush to find out the strategy. Bush tells him "to bring hope & freedom to the Iraqi people."
The general then exits the room, shaking his head, and goes to meet with the other generals where he says "well boys, we're on our own."
