The Prado (art museum in Madrid - sort of Spain's Louvre) teams up with Google Earth to put 10 GIGApixel images online of their collection.
Some great stuff there, though not much available yet - check out the Goya when you get a chance (here or anywhere - astonishing ability to depict light).

Sweet. Mpls Institute of Arts has a somewhat similar feature - nowhere near the resolution, but a much larger portion of their collection.
You can start a "my collection" of favorite works you want to return to, but - ridiculous - you may not save it and return to it at another time.
Actually - your link is just to a GoogleMaps page
That link works just fine.
Very cool Meth! I liked the painting of The Garden of Delights (El jardin de las Delicias) the best. It looks like the firt panel is that of the Garden of Eden. In the third panel, the delights turn sour. If you look closely you will see someone or something shitting out coins into a pool of water. Very bizzare!
If I had to have one of thesae in my living room, I would choose El Descendiniento. I am guessing that it means The Descent , or Taking Down from the cross. I haven't had the time to look this up on the internet yet.
This is one of you best (quick check this out) posts ever. It goes up their with the Central Park Art photos and post.
OK - got it.
Only 3 so far, right?
Yes, very cool. The Goya - could be wrong here (and I suppose I could "Wiki" it, but I don't feel like it)- I think they are the folks Caravaggio (the first guy in Simon Schama's 'Power of Art' series) studied with. Their (and their disciples') stunning depiction and use of light is nearly unmistakable.
Check out this awesome painting - one of my favs - from the Mpls Institute of Arts: The Denial of St. Peter by Gerrit van Honthorst. I assume he studied with the Goya.
