Visually arresting combination of live-action motion capture and cgi - sort of like a cross between Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Sin City. Entirely in black and white, and JUST black and white- no shades of gray - very much a film noir feel to a solid dystopian sci-fi future.
A French movie with English voices by Daniel Craig, among others. All 'acting' done by French actors.
Really well done. In many ways a much better use of technology, instead of trying to make things look 'real'.
I learned about this movie as a trailer that preceded The Prestige.

I've not seen the two movies that this is supposedly a cross between, but it sounds like a groundbreaking visual idea. May have to queue it.
Sort of - a cross between, but definitely a very visually interesting film, and a pretty good plot to go with it, though nothing mind-bending.
