No longer president of France

In the interest of full disclosure, from the moment Jacques Chirac was elected president of France, I assumed that the Warner Brothers character (and Bugs Bunny villain) was Black Jack Chirac (or some phonetic spelling). As it turns out, my memory was faulty and his name was Black Jack Shellac, and while that's close, it's not nearly as satisfying.

Pretty much no one remembered Black Jack anyway, so it was mostly something I chuckled quietly to myself about.

fantastic. Who is going to take his place?

I remember the character. However, I wouldn't be able to tell you his name.

Yosemite Sarkozy.

I remember the character would introduce himself very emphatically. That voice is what I hear whenever I read the former French president's name in the paper.

Stephen - glad you're among the "shellacked".

MT - no more work indeed.

Certainly you remember when I (unprompted by you) mentioned something to the effect of feeling glad that, having been "outblackjacked" with Bugs' "21 of Spades," BJC had risen through the ranks of French politics.

While I don't remember the exact comment I did know you were on the inside of this joke.
