Two Years - 40,160 Miles

As of yesterday my car was two years old. Good lord I drive a lot.
Luckily I get reimbursed for a bunch of it, at least my trips to the jobsite.

Some stats (I've been keeping a detailed log)

34.2mpg (36+ in the summer, 32+ during the winter - damn winter fuel mix)
Worst gas mileage - 30.27
Best gas mileage - 37.75
1172 gallons of gas
Average cost of gas $2.454
Cheapest gas $2.05
Most expensive gas $3.05 (looks like we're heading that way again)

Still more economical than owning a hybrid ($258 overall based on certain assumptions regarding initial cost and loan payments)

Recall this post from last year.

What car is that? I'm shopping for a new car. My wife travels twice as much as you do. That's all by choice, but still, I need a new car all the same, and I know nothing about cars.

Toyota Matrix - basically a Corrola hatchback. If she doesn't need to haul stuff the Corolla gets better gas mileage.

That's awesome, my motorcycle gets 37+mpg so kudos to you and your Matrix!

Maybe all the bees are getting killed on your grill with all those miles you put on your car?

Perhaps.

I think it's the bee rapture.

Will we stop with CMC? I hope that it is implied that the rapture that includes people is the ending point.

An instance of only vaguely useful record keeping of which a Hylton would be proud.
