As of yesterday my car was one year old. Good lord I drive a lot.
Luckily I get reimbursed for a bunch of it, at least my trips to the jobsite.
Some stats (i've been keeping a detailed log)
34mpg (was up at 36 before the so-called 'winter mix' sent it plummeting)
Worst gas mileage - 30.27
Best gas mileage - 37.37
600 gallons of gas
Average cost of gas $2.327
Cheapest gas $2.05
Most expensive gas $3.05 (looks like we're heading that way again)

I take it the "matrix," if you will, that you put together making the various car comparisons may have skewed a little more in favor of the Prius since the time when you made the original decision.
Any chance of resurrecting the old spreadsheet and updating it with respect to current/projected gas prices.
Thank God we got an oil man in the White House, or our gas prices would be really out of control.
I have a constant log in the spreadsheet that I keep my gas mileage in that compares what I paid for the Matrix and the gas mileage it gets versus a car that cost $3000 more and gets 50mpg. I'm still ahead, though not by an enormous amount.
50mpg is pretty high target though.
I wish that I could afford a new car that gets great gas milage. My Mazda does alright, but being almost 20 years old, it has lost it's efficency.
Sounds pretty good - just poking in, I did make a comment on the Judas entry - if anyone is interested in reading.
Nope.
ha!
