Original Sin

Need some clarification.

Adam and Eve were alone and naked in the garden, forbidden only to eat of the 'fruit of knowledge'and to listen to 'the serpent'. They had no inclination to 'get it on' as they were truly innocent.

The serpent convinces them to eat of this fruit, they become aware of their nakedness and are subsequently thrown out of the garden for disobeying a direct order. The result of this expulsion from paradise? Us.

If Adam and Eve had done as they were told, would they have spent all of eternity wandering through the garden telling funny stories of the animals they encountered, completely childless and sexless? Everything that happened as a result of their expulsion would have been rendered moot, including Jesus?

Good thing for us that they got wise.

Interesting!

Perhaps the secret link is Anne Geddes. If Adam and Eve had continued in the Garden, having not committed the Original Sin, perhaps all their descendents would have had an adrogynous birth; springing forth from such things as watermelons, large flowers, and teddy bear suits.

Can't say I'd want to live in a world without sex. "Sex and the City," maybe, but definitely not sex.

Of course the next question to arise from this is....

OK, so original sin happened, and from Adam and Eve sprung forth Cain and Able plus three daughters. We are the product of incestuous relationships between these five offspring, which at a later point was deemed to be a sin equal to homosexuality.

Right off the bat, these people were sinning like crazy, and as a result of this sinning, we are.

I always figured that was the justification for good ol' Southern kissin' cousins.

Those southerners need excuses for lots of things.

The Bible is a fantabulastic book that can be used for a rage of things from the condemnation of others' homosexuality to the defense of your own motherfucking.

This is the view of God and the Bible without Faith. It was not created for the mindless masses, but given as a resource for those who believe that there is more to life and death.

It is not fair to say that they would have lived forever without sex and without producing offspring. We have no idea what God would do if there was no original sin. You can only assume, and we know what that makes of a person.

Sorry-I've been Bible-bashing again. I just get so frustrated, T-Clog, with the representatives of the major faiths of the world, and all the suffering and complication that has arisen as a result of their interpretations.

There are definitely people out there who are credits to their respective faiths. All those who are still in the Christian fold can do is try to be the best representative they can for Jesus really stood for.

Can't be blaming the messenger.

Also cannot take as literal truth anything that was passed down orally (OHYEAH!) for generations and then written in various languages, eventually Greek, and then translated multiple times after that. We've all played the telephone game - it just doesn't work.

For all we know, amybe the original version said "Love hard thy neighbor."
