An Amalgam of Ideas Become One

We three (four if Cory would like to particpate, but seeing as he sees himself as a musical pussy, he may not - his choice - he is welcome) - me, Dan and Pat start a sort of music club. We alternate months, each taken 4 per year (3 if Cory), and between us create a cd of the month that is shared with the others.

For example - me, January - Dan, February - Pat, March - me, April, etc....

At the end of each month one of us prepares a cd of the music we're listening to at the time, or think the other's should hear.

In an ideal world we would have 6 or 12 people particpating (maybe Aaron would like to join) but I think our select little group will work fine, especially given some of the divergence of our musical tastes.

I've sent Gibbons such discs on a couple of occasions, and Dan suggested during my visit that we do the same. Given the accessible technology, it should be a piece of cake for all of us.

Thoughts? Interest?

Willing and able.

Yupper. Don't forget, I have made the McCartpilation & To Kids with Love.

I think there should be a sheet of "liner notes" accompanying the disc, to explain the significance-even if brief-of the different songs. Also, I think we should limit the tracks on a CD to 10.

I would very much like to participate, but I have some reservations. I would love hearing what you guys are listening to, but I don't know if you want to hear the tunes that I have in my collection. Any thoughts about that?

Why don't we give it a shot?

Bring that George Wintston ass in to the mix!!!

OK then. I'll assume the absent one (Mighty Tom) is onboard and create the first one.

I'll then tag the next person. We'll just alternate months in a five person cycle as long as there is interest.

Another thought - we could create a blog just for this cd club. Not that we don't operate enough blogs but, it could be used for the liner notes, and obviously for discussions of the music that might follow.

Not sure whether I'm sold on that idea or agin it. I guess feel free to start one and try it for the first album. I'd also liek some liner notes included-just a piece of paper I can fold up & stick in would be fine-but something I can hold in my hand while listening besides my own dink...

You certainly don't need more than one hand for yer dink, a couple fingers might suffice.

I like the blog idea.

And we've always known about Dan's wee pee-pee.

I think that I will just compile a list of MY favorite U2 songs for you guys. I will not attempt to put together a version of my other tunes because I am listening to a lot of worship and praise music.

We'll keep it to 4 then, and Cory can Jesify us at his leisure.

Does that me I still recieve your cds?

Pat said...

Yes, from me anyway, although they may include far more satanic songs than they would have otherwise, to balance out the worship and praise music.

Dickhead! :)

You think I'm joking?

Your Jesification concerns me greatly.

If you ever tell me you think intelligent design should be taught on an equal level with evolution (or at all in a public school science class), you're getting an ass-kicking like none the world has ever known. A real one, with bleeding, bruises and difficulty walking.

After my ass kicking, I will forgive you. :) I don't think that we should teach creation in school. It should be left to the parents and sunday school. However, there should not be such a push towards evolution as the only way. There should be some sensitivity to religious beliefs and acknowledge that some believe there is another way. I believe that it is possible that creation happened through eveloution. At one point God decided to creat modern day man. He created the changes that took one form of huminoid to another level. That's not all, but it gives you an idea of some of my thoughts in a nut shell.

You maybe have dodged my fury.

The problem with the 'creationists' that get all the press is that they believe the Earth is 6000 years old and has always been the same.

That is utter bullshit.

Dan sent me info on a poll that said most Americans believe that all the creatures of the Earth were created as they are and have not changed.

Most Americans ARE idiots - it has finally been proven.

If you (the collectinve you - not T-Clog) have to believe that a supernatural being 'created' the world, why can't that being be so freaking powerful that he planned for the whole thing to result in us from the very beginning? Anything less than that and your god becomes either a charlatan (making it look like things evolved and are really old) - to what purpose, or not as powerful.

It sickens me that religious people can have such a simplistic view of their supreme being.
